Ocean Rig Olympia
Proceanic mobilized a 2‐Man ROV Team, and two ROV systems to Luanda, Angola in order to carry out an Under Water Inspection in Lieu of Dry‐Docking “UWILD” of the Ocean Rig Management Drilling Vessel “OLYMPIA” in January of 2014. Pre and Post freight shipment of equipment ensured that all equipment was available to the inspectors when needed, and ensured that ORM Management Personnel and Classification Society Surveyors were did not experience survey delays.
Inspection of the hull was carried out with limited visibility, and in significant current. However, all inspections were accepted by the attending ABS Surveyor. The moon pool was also inspected, under turbulent conditions, in which a diver, or a larger ROV could not have completed the inspection. Inspections were scheduled to be carried out over a 4 day period by the two‐man team of Proceanic ROV operators. However, all work was completed to Client and ABS satisfaction within 2 full inspection days.
